Sorry for the convenience
This is a cross-section of my particular flavor of nerderia, heavy on Katamari Damacy, Mario, and Perler beads. Who am I kidding? It's mostly reblogs of awesome stuff, including cats, owls, and unicorns, with a smattering of original content and some interesting commentary on the reblogs. I do, wild as it sounds, actually try to make friends (not just followers) on here.

Blue Canary cocktail recipe
Pour the gin, grapefruit juice and blue curacao into a mixing glass half-filled with ice cubes. Stir well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint, and serve.
One of them should be soy sauce.

Drinking party game! (I don’t mean drinking game for a party. I mean game for a drinking party.)
Homemade Coffee Liqueur
“2 cups hot water
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon instant coffee
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 cups vodka
1/2 cup good brandy
In a pan on low to medium heat combine sugar, coffee, vanilla and water. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Set aside until completely cool then add vodka and brandy. Be sure it is completely cool or some of the alcohol WILL evaporate. Funnel into bottles and let set for six weeks.”
Found on Pinterest with this source. (It’s listed there as a homemade Kahlua recipe, but there are many other brands of coffee liqueur, so I’ve renamed it here.)
I’d have to run some numbers, but I have my doubts as to whether this would be cheaper than just buying a coffee liqueur (even Kahlua itself, and especially one without a famous name). And because it specifically says it’s a recipe for Kahlua, which is rum-based, I find the use of brandy puzzling. But, I’m saving the recipe anyway, because I’ll probably try it at least once.
This is convenient for me, as work folks are meeting at a bar tonight!

The Avengers cups were probably not made with the intent of being used in adult beverages, but we are totally using them for adult beverages!
And for non comic book folk who have only seen the amazing movie, Spiderman is totally an Avenger…at times….when he is not being a dick.
You forgot to mention the blue canary in the outlet by the light switch who watches over you.

“The Last Unicorn”
- gin
- lavender simple syrup (directions here)
- lemon
- ice
- 2 oz gin
- 1 oz lavender syrup
- shake well with ice, strain into martini glass
- splash lemon juice on top
- garnish with lemon twist
This is a drink I created at the restaurant I did my culinary school internship at. Turned out to be a hit: it has a gorgeous lavender color and is an aromatic, floral change from fruity drinks. Perfect for summer!
I did this once, except it was more like 5 shots in 5 minutes. After 3 glasses of wine and 2 beers. That was a bad weekend.
