Temporarily Stairs
Sorry for the convenience
This is a cross-section of my particular flavor of nerderia, heavy on Katamari Damacy, Mario, and Perler beads. Who am I kidding? It's mostly reblogs of awesome stuff, including cats, owls, and unicorns, with a smattering of original content and some interesting commentary on the reblogs. I do, wild as it sounds, actually try to make friends (not just followers) on here.

“Lemme go! i gotta save Princess Zelda!”
I JUST REALIZED I COULD DRESS MABEL IN ONESIES!
(via fefifonom)
So as promised, here’s the process!
The first day, I did the first pic. This should’ve taken a few hours. It took about 5, because I restarted it three times. I blame this for being exhausted. I threw the beads at one point because the colors were wrong. If you look at the sprite, you’ll actually see the brightest color is almost a pear greenish. I didn’t have it. So I had to recolor it slightly. (The sprite is here: http://cardgallery.tales-tra.com/csw_stand/linkbig.gif)
The second day was a lazy day. I did the sword. Then I had the joy of attaching the pieces. If you look online at large pieces, most people use several small boards. They interlock very nicely. As seen in the first picture, we use the big one which doesn’t interlock. It’s annoying. You have to hold it tight together and iron the crap out of it. Joy.
Third day was the rest of the sword and the rest of the shield. What a trouble! You might think if it’s just several shades of blue, it’s easy. The thing is if you forget the shade of blue and what you used for it, the shading can be wrong and one perler can ruin the shading completely. Again, had the joy of attaching is shown in the fourth pic.
The fourth day was the final piece - the legs. Well, it was easier as I used connecting boards instead of pushing and shoving. It worked well - attaching the legs wasn’t even that bad. The final product is in that last pic.
Great, right? All done!
Well, no. I ironed the crap out of that thing. Once one side was completely melted into a giant melted melty thing, I left the other side unmelted. I knew I couldn’t melt it evenly, especially as I attach them. So I ironed it, then picked it up. It bent in half. It was just so flimsy it bends easily, completely. It stayed together perfectly but it needed a backing. Thus, poster board was cut to its shape and hot glued.
And then the final product! :D
Again, for sale here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/106241526/link-perler-gigantic#item-title-en-US Maybe you’ll understand part of the issues and why it costs over $100. xD
